Asesedwa Kese Necklace
Our unisex chief necklaces are shown in an 23 karat gold & silver plated 18" finish. Every piece is forged and engraved by hand here at our Kumasi workshop. Traditionally worn at festivals, funerals, weddings and special events they are surely conversation starters and relics meant to be passed down on to future generations.
Due to the handmade nature of this item, each piece is unique, one of the same & any variations are considered part of the beauty of the design.
Symbol Meaning
-
Asesedwa Kese Necklace: The most powerful symbol in Akan society, the throne.
Since the fourteenth century, Akan rulers have used elaborate displays of royal regalia (Agyapdie) to express their power and wealth, as well as to shield themselves from harm. We have erected this royal regalia through the Omanhene collection in modern fashion while maintaining the authenticity of style and techniques used to produce them that are centuries old.
We are Ghanaians and a black owned small business in love with our culture with a mission to share a piece of our heritage with the rest of the world.
